Materials used

  • Plantation timbers (e.g. we do not like to use timbers such as Merbu which comes from Asian rainforests or Old growth forest timber)
  • Recycled timbers
  • Second hand materials (e.g.bricks and flooring)

  • Use of solar power and solar hot water services
  • Use of wind power
  • Energy efficient appliances and lighting
  • Proper orientation
  • Use of eaves to let sun in the winter and to keep sun out in summer
  • Adjustable shadings
  • Use of high thermal mass materials
  • Deciduous trees to allow let sun in the winter and to keep sun out in summer¬†

Water conservation

  • Grey water systems
  • Rainwater tanks

  • Ensure minimum impact of local environment during to construction. E.g. runoff, storm water damage, water pollution, dust pollution & noise pollution. E.g. covering stockpiles to protect from runoff into drains
  • Measures to prevent on-site erosion
  • Environmental friendly cleaning products
  • Recycling bins
